Successful Operation By North Warwickshire Police
On the 12th and 13th January, North Warwickshire Police ran an operation in Corley, working with partnership agencies to address illegal vehicles on the road, including catching those using red diesel and offenders using our road network. 34 vehicles were seized and 5 arrests made. Checks were also made on livestock vehicles to ensure they were carrying correct paperwork; this included those carrying horses where passports and microchips were checked.

Door Step Caller Reported in Shustoke
A Shustoke resident called the Police concerned about a male selling door to door. The caller banged loudly on the door asking the resident to 'hurry up' and was rude on having his wares declined. He was stopped after an accurate description and direction of travel was provided. He was reported for not being in possession of a pedlars certificate and will, no doubt, receive a hefty fine. PC Ellen BEATY states 'To sell door to door a Pedlars Certificate is required. This can be obtained after applying to the Police in the area you live and once issued is valid throughout the UK. The licence costs £12.25, lasts for a year, applicants have to be over 17 years of age and of good character. It is an offence to sell door to door without one and if requested by anyone to whom goods are offered for sale, or if on private property must be produced.'
